Sir Paul McCartney agreed to record music for new shoot-em-up game Destiny as it was the only way to get his games-obsessed grandchildren to listen to his songs.

The Beatles star provides the soundtrack for the latest release by games giant Activision, but he admits his main reason for getting involved in the project was to sneak his music into his family's online world.

He tells NME magazine, "I know from my kids and my grandkids, they just bury themselves in a game and I don't think they've got time to listen to my music. Their agenda is pretty full with all the other stuff, you know, so I like the idea of infiltrating into their agenda!"
