Sir Paul McCartney has promised to give fans attending his Sunday (10Aug14) show at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium a night to remember, vowing to play more than the historic 30-minute set The Beatles performed there back in 1966.

The rock legend will return to the stage at the sports mecca this weekend for the first time since the Fab Four's tour stop at the baseball venue 48 years ago, which proved to be the band's second-to-last ever scheduled concert before its split months later.

A video announcement from MCCartney has been screened at Dodger Stadium events in recent days, promising those planning to turn out for his show a music extravaganza that's not to be missed.

The singer's big return to Dodger Stadium, which is part of his Out There Tour, is expected to run for three hours with a hits-packed set spanning his entire career with the Beatles, Wings and as a solo star.

The gig will be MCCartney's first in Los Angeles since his two-night run at the Hollywood Bowl in 2010.
