Sir Paul McCartney has garnered four nominations in a new set of awards honouring legends of popular music.

The former BEATLE is up for Legendary Male, Performance of the Year for his BACK IN THE WORLD tour, Legendary Group as a member of the Beatles and Top Album for SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND.

Britain's first ever CAPITAL GOLD LEGENDS AWARDS will be voted for by members of the public, and will give the nod to true stalwarts of showbusiness.

Also in the running for Legendary Male are SIR Elton John, Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson and David Bowie, while Robbie Williams has garnered three nods, including one for his Knebworth performances earlier this year (03).

Madonna, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin are all in the running for Legendary Female.

Meanwhile, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody has been voted the all-time top song by listeners of the Capital Gold radio station, followed by The Beatles' HEY JUDE and Michael Jackson's BILLIE JEAN.
