The photographer in the middle of a heated row with Sir Paul McCartney is insisting the multi-millionaire pay for the damage he caused to his damaged camera.

The former Beatles legend was enraged when photographer KEVIN WHEAL snapped him as he visited illusionist David Blaine's current starvation stunt over the River Thames, London in the early hours of Friday morning (begs19SEP13), with a scuffle breaking out between McCartney's entourage and the lensman.

However, Wheal is now insistent McCartney caused criminal damage to his property and is threatening to sue the expectant father.

The upset paparazzi mutters, "McCartney should apologise and he should replace my broken camera too. I don't know how much it's going to cost to repair but the whole thing is worth $9,600 (GBP6,000).

"I just can't believe the way he reacted, I was just doing my job. One of MACCA's party even asked me to take a picture. He's a famous man who was visiting a very public place. I'm livid."

McCartney sacked his long-term publicist Geoff Baker after the incident for tipping Wheal off - but took him back later in the day, claiming the whole episode was a "joke".
