Punk star Siouxsie Sioux took the top award at the Mojo Honours List in London last night (16JUN05) - beating out competition from legends including David Bowie, Marc Bolan and THE Ramones.

The SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES singer won the Icon Award at the ceremony, staged by British magazine MOJO to honour veteran stars who have influenced contemporary music artists.

U2 guitarist The Edge presented Sioux with the award, which was voted for by Mojo readers.

Among the other winners were Paul Weller, who received the Songwriter Award; Gang Of Four, who took the Inspiration Award; and The Magic Numbers, who were named Best New Act.

OUR HOUSE stars Madness took home the Hall Of Fame Award.

Guests at the bash included Led Zeppelin rocker Jimmy Page, SINEAD O'CONNOR, BLUR star Alex James, and Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour.
