The singer boasted about cooking for "fussy" Simon and tackling squid dishes in her kitchen at home, but she failed to impress Celebrity MasterChef judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode, who refused to eat her extremely rare meat dishes, served with a raw aubergine.

Wallace called one of her dishes "terrifying" and refused to sample it for fear of salmonella or food poisoning, stating, "That's raw meat!", while sidekick John told Sinitta, "Your aubergine is not very nice and the lamb tastes of just processed lamb."

Prior to her appearance on the programme, the pop star told The Sun newspaper, "I’m doing some very creative and visually stunning dishes. I’ve made a very ugly squid look beautiful. I’ve done some vegetables with lamb - I think it was lamb, anyway. And I served brilliantly, I think, in a real restaurant kitchen."

Sinitta now has her sights set on a judging role on TV talent show The X Factor, telling the publication she has "begged, screamed and cried" to her ex, Simon, to get her a role on the show - and she's convinced she would be a better choice than Nicole Scherzinger, who has returned to the panel for the upcoming season of the show.

"Nicole squirms and doesn’t want to tell people that they are awful," Sinitta tells The Sun. "She doesn’t quite understand that anyone can audition and her job is to get rid of the bad and keep the good. You see her sitting there just excruciatingly embarrassed trying to say no to people."
