Irish singer Sinead O'connor credits cult movie TRAINSPOTTING with saving her from a life of drug-taking.
O'Connor, who is making a comeback with her new album THROW DOWN YOUR ARMS, found some of the scenes in the hardcore IRVINE WELSH story so horrifying she vowed never to let drugs destroy her life.
The NOTHING COMPARES 2 U star says, "Thank God when I was young I saw that movie Trainspotting.
"The bit when they forget about the baby, that totally freaked me out - I think that's a good thing."
The 37-year-old mother-of-three is also relieved she had her first child before hitting stardom.
She adds, "I was lucky that I was a mum before success really, because I probably would have gone a lot wilder on the drugs and that."
