Sinead Oconnor has reportedly cancelled a world tour, citing her struggles in the past few months. O'Connor endured a whirlwind winter by first marrying Barry Herridge then divorcing him just 16 days later, the couple eventually getting back together again. It's an indication that something isn't right with the Irish singer however, and this seems to be further proof. A statement was written on her website - since deleted - that called off the tour, and a source told the Bbc "We have had nothing confirmed yet but are working on the assumption that the statement on her website is correct."
The original statement by the 45 year-old read, "As you all know I had a very serious breakdown between December and March and I had been advised by my doctor not to go on tour but didn't want to 'fail' or let anyone down as the tour was already booked to coincide with album release" Continuing, she added "So very stupidly I ignored his advice to my great detriment, attempting to be stronger than I actually am. I apologise sincerely for any difficulties this may cause."
It's a pity for the singer who did indeed seem to be getting back to a level of normality, and whose latest album 'How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?' was one of her most critically well-received records of recent years.
