The Nothing Compares 2 U star first sparked fears for her wellbeing in November (15) when she wrote a disturbing post on claiming she had tried to commit suicide by overdosing in a hotel room in Ireland.

O'Connor, who has a history of mental health problems, was found "safe and sound" and was taken to hospital, where she continued to write messages on Facebook blasting her family members for not coming to visit.

Her official page was shut down on 2 December (15) after she made another threat of suicide, but it was reinstated two days later (04Dec15).

O'Connor returned to the account on Thursday (10Dec15) to tell fans that social workers had granted her supervised access to her 11-year old son, Shane, but she is now being held at a hospital in Dublin, Ireland under the country's Mental Health Act.

She writes, "So get this development... Last week I get the all clear from social services. That I'm a perfectly fit mother. Today I get detained against my will under the mental health act by St Patrick's Hospital and Tusla (Ireland's Child and Family Agency) because I refused to be subjected to the humiliation of 'supervised access'...

"Two men arrive. Commence telling me what I may say or not say when I see my child. I'm to smile for example. Not to howl crying, as I am once they tell me this is not a f**king joke. For real. I refuse. I say I wish to leave the hospital. I'm then given a leaflet. A f**king leaflet! And told I'm now being detained against my will. I'm ready to smash the f**king place to pieces. And every f**ker who is even remotely responsible for doing this to my son and me. May God forgive you because I never will. I don't care who you are, you're scum. And you're dead to me."

O'Connor is locked in a battle with her eldest son Jake and Shane's father Donal Lunny over the custody of the little boy and her other underage child, Yeshua. O'Connor also has another adult daughter.
