An interactive advert for hit movie Sin City has been banned in the UK because it "condones violence".
Britain's Advertising Standards Authority ruled that the scenes depicted by the poster display were highly unsuitable for children - yet the interactive adverts were located in places easily accessible to minors.
Clips of the 18-certificate film viewable in the advert featured guns firing, physical violence and a car crash.
Movie distributor Buena Vista argued that, during a 47-day campaign, there were 486,570 interactions with their Sin City adverts, and only one complaint was made - and that they intentionally placed the interactive buttons higher than usual.
However, the Asa countered that children could still see unsuitable images once the buttons had been activated, and it has ordered the posters to be withdrawn.
