BLUE singer Simon Webbe is to embark on a solo career after signing a lucrative contract with the boyband's record label, INNOCENT RECORDS.
Industry insiders say the GUILTY heart-throb's latest move is another indication that Blue are set to split, with Webbe and bandmates Duncan James, Antony Costa and Lee Ryan planning to go their separate ways after their next album and a British tour next summer (05).
Innocent Records are hoping Webbe will achieve similar success to that he achieved with the boyband.
A source says, "Simon realises Blue won't go on for ever. He has business interests as well but music is his first love and he's always wanted to try his luck as a solo artist."06/09/2004 13:59
