Simon Cowell has shot down reports Glee star Darren Criss will be involved in the second season of America's The X Factor, because he has never heard of him.
The actor, who recently took over from Daniel Radcliffe in Broadway hit How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, was reportedly offered the chance to take over from host Steve Jones, who was axed after the first run.
However, Cowell has made it clear Criss was never in the running for the job after failing to recognise his name in a recent interview.
When asked by Access Hollywood if he was in talks with the young actor, Cowell replied, "Darren Criss? I don't know who he is."
He then mistook him for Glee co-star Kevin MCHale, who plays disabled Artie Abrams in the show.
Cowell added, "Is he the one in the wheelchair? I like him."
