Simon Cowell is drafting in extra security to protect Susan Boyle after an obsessed fan began trailing the talent show sensation.
The opera singer, who finished in second place in Cowell's Britain's Got Talent TV series earlier this year (09), was left spooked after an American woman began bombarding her with letters.
And the music mogul decided the Scottish star needed a guard after the fan showed up at Boyle's home in West Lothian, Scotland.
A source tells Britain's The Sun, "Simon is not taking any chances. This woman is constantly following Susan around the world. It is a middle-aged American woman who has become obsessed with her. At first, people thought it was no more than a nuisance. But after what happened to Leona (Lewis) everyone is taking extra precautions."
Bleeding Love hitmaker Lewis, who was mentored by Cowell on talent competition The X Factor, was allegedly punched in the face by a 29-year-old man at a book-signing event in London last month (Oct09).
