The first day of Italian leader Silvio Berlusconi's sex trial lasted all of eight minutes in Milan on Wednesday (06Apr11).
The Prime Minister, 74, is charged with paying an underage prostitute for sex, which could land him in jail for 12 years.
Berlusconi did not appear in court. The case was adjourned to 29 May (11).
Prosecutors have claimed Berlusconi and his aides recruited prostitutes and women to attend 'Bunga Bunga' parties at the Prime Minister's villa. Police reports suggest the regular get togethers were orgies.
The leader is accused of having sex with a teen runaway nicknamed Ruby Heartstealer.
Berlusconi insists he didn't sleep with the hooker and had no idea she was only 17.
George Clooney has also been caught up in the drama - he's on the defence's long wish list of witnesses, who reportedly attended one of Berlusconi's parties.
The Prime Minister's alleged teenage mistress reported seeing the actor and his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis at one of the premier's parties last year (10).
According to a local newspaper report, Italian model/TV presenter Canalis recently spoke to prosecutors and denied attending any of the premier's events, but attorney Piersilvio Cipollotti insists he wants to hear the testimony for himself.
But Clooney, who owns a holiday retreat in Lake Como, is adamant his appearance at the trial will be a complete waste of time.
He said, "It seems odd since I've only met Berlusconi once and that was in an attempt to get aid into Darfur."
The actor has been subpoenaed to testify at the trial.
