Sienna Miller has been awarded more than £37,000 after winning a privacy claim against the Sun and the News of the World.

The actress' representatives successfully argued that photos published in the tabloids of her filming a nude scene for upcoming film Hippie Hippie Shake represented an invasion of privacy.

Today's payout, which comes after legal action was first launched in October, is thought to be the highest ever over the publication of intrusive photos in the UK.

As well as News International's News of the World and the Sun, Xposure Photo Agency is also meeting part of the costs, which are in addition to Miller's legal expenses.

The ruling means that the photos must be deleted and never republished.

The 25-year-old actress, who starred in Layer Cake, Alfie and Factory Girl, is still pursuing an outstanding claim against the photographer in question.

Hippie Hippie Shake, also starring Cillian Murphy, is based on the memoirs of satirist Richard Neville and due for a 2008 release.
