The New York hotel where punk legend Sid Vicious allegedly killed his girlfriend NANCY SPUNGEN in 1978 is up for sale.
The legendary Chelsea Hotel has played host to a number of artists over the years including Dylan Thomas, Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol and Arthur Miller, who all stayed at the Manhattan hotspot.
The legendary building is most famous as the scene of the bloody stabbing of Spungen, who was found dead on the bathroom floor of Room 100 by the Sex Pistols star, who was questioned over her death and died of a drugs overdose just months later.
The hotel, which was declared a cultural landmark in 1966, is now up for sale following an announcement by the board of owners on Tuesday (19Oct10), who hope "a new owner would re-energise and revitalise the Chelsea."
