The latest installments of Shrek, Spider-Man and Harry Potter are expected to make a delayed arrival in China this summer (04), as a part of a campaign to protect the local film industry.

Despite the success of Chinese director Zhang Yimou and a handful of others, China's movie industry has been starved of box-office revenue by an influx of pirated DVDs.

A large number of the illegal copies sell for as little as $1 (GBP0.55) and, as a result, the country is expected to delay the import of foreign movies in July (04) in an attempt to combat the issue.
