Stars including Dame Shirley Bassey, Timothy Dalton and Sir Michael Caine turned out on Monday (20Jun11) to pay tribute to late composer John Barry at a memorial concert.
The British musician, famed for creating many of the iconic James Bond theme tunes, died from a heart attack in January (11).
Following his death, stars including Simon Pegg, Simon Le Bon and Stephen Fry rushed to pay tribute to Barry - and now a special concert has taken place at London's Royal Albert Hall to mark the Oscar winner's life.
Bassey received rapturous applause as she performed 007 songs Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever, while Britain's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performed a selection of Barry's compositions.
Former Bond star Dalton was on hand to speak at the event, while Beatles producer Sir George Martin also delivered a speech.
Actor Caine said during the evening, "John was one of my oldest and closest friends. I was the first person in the world to hear Goldfinger. And I heard it all night... (he was) one of the all-time greats."
