The 'Stitches' hitmaker took a tumble on a motorised street vehicle while in Nashville, Tennessee, injuring his eye and bruising his hands, and though he's no longer in pain, he's been left with a lasting reminder of the accident.
He told 'Extra': ''I messed up my hands. But it's all kind of healed... I have scars.''
Shawn also admitted his mishap occurred because he was trying to copy a trick his friend had shown him.
He explained: ''I fell off of one of those electric scooters. I was trying to do a trick. My friend was behind me and was like, 'Can you do this?' Tried to copy him.''
The 20-year-old singer previously put his injuries down to being an ''idiot''.
He said: ''It has nothing to do with the scooter. It has everything to do with being an idiot, being 20.''
Shawn explained his injuries occurred after he turned to look behind him and he decided to let his face take the brunt of the accident rather than try and break his fall with his hands as he needed to play guitar for his 'CMT Crossroads' concert special with the Zac Brown Band, which was the reason why he was in Tennessee.
But the 'In My Blood' singer insisted the incident hadn't put him off using the motorised mode of transport in the future.
He said: ''If anybody asked me if they should ride them, I would say yes.''
And not only that, but after picking himself back up from his fall, he'd jumped straight back onto the scooter again.
He admitted: ''I rode it back to the hotel.''
