Sharon Stone and MICHAEL DOUGLAS spent the final 10 days of shooting Basic Instinct naked. Director Paul Verhoeven decided to let his stars get to know each other while making the movie before asking them to strip. Stone recalls, "He decided that we should shoot the nudity at the end of the movie, which I thought was intelligent - it gave us an opportunity to get to know and be comfortable with each other. "I was shy and nervous. I had a little bit of experience with the nudity, but not so much. By about day four, it was like, 'Whatever.'"
