Rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne was unaware her husband Ozzy was using drugs behind her back, insisting she's "devastated" by his relapse.
Ozzy Osbourne has famously battled alcohol and substance abuse issues throughout his life, but he tackled his addictions in rehab in 2003.
Last week (15Apr13) the Grammy winner confessed he relapsed 18 months ago in a candid Facebook.com post, and now his Tv personality wife Sharon has broken her silence, confessing the musician kept her in the dark about his problems.
Speaking out about the ordeal on Tuesday (23Apr13) while co-hosting her U.S. talk show The Talk, she said, "Everything that was printed in the tabloids has been distorted. There's always a little seed of truth to everything that gets reported, but then it gets very distorted. The only thing that's true was the Facebook posting that my husband did on his Facebook where he said he's been using alcohol and prescription drugs for the last year-and-a-half and that he's been in a very dark place. That's true, that's very true.
"Everybody knows he's been struggling with this his entire life, I never knew that he was using prescription drugs, I knew he was drinking, occasionally, but I didn't realise to the extent."
The 60 year old also shut down ongoing rumours the couple's marriage is on the rocks, though she admitted she's been going through a difficult time: "We're not getting divorced, however, am I happy? No. Am I upset? Yes, I am. I'm devastated right now.
"It's a disease that not only hurts the person who has the disease, but it hurts the family, it hurts people who love you and we're dealing with it, we've dealt with worse and this too shall pass. Otherwise my husband will be taken to hospital to get my foot removed from his a**."
It is not yet known if Ozzy's issues will upset plans for the reunited Black Sabbath to return to the road later this year (13).
