Sharon Osbourne overhauled her general health following her double mastectomy ordeal by embarking on a new weightloss program.
The Tv star, who previously battled colon cancer, underwent the preventive surgery earlier this year (12) over fears she could develop breast cancer.
She subsequently had reconstructive surgery and then decided to lose weight so she could be healthy and look as good as possible as she hit her 60s.
Osbourne now follows the Atkins diet, which restricts followers to protein and vegetables - and she has lost a staggering 28 pounds (12.7 kilograms) in just eight weeks.
She tells Us Weekly magazine, "I want to lose another seven and I'll do that over time."
"I've struggled with my weight for my entire life. I've been fat and I've been thin. As you know, I got the lap-band (in 1999) and lost a ton of weight, but it made me so sick. That's why I had to remove it. But when I removed it, I gained about 45 pounds.
"As my 60th birthday was approaching (in October), I didn't want to be overweight. I wanted to be healthy... and enjoy life."
Her family is supporting her through her latest weightloss battle - son Jack and husband Ozzy are also fighting the flab on the Atkins diet.
She adds, "They love it because it is so convenient. It's so yummy."
