Shannon Tweed, the Canadian-born former model, wore $2.5 million worth of diamonds at her wedding to long-time partner Gene Simmons on Saturday (1st October 2011), according to Tmz.com. Tweed, who has been in a relationship with the Kiss frontman for 28 years, married in front of 400 guests.
The outdoor evening ceremony, held at the Beverly Hills hotel, saw the famous duo exchange vows they written themselves, according to Reuters. Guests at the star-studded bash included Playboy magnate Hugh Hefner, American comedian Bill Maher and Gene's band-mates. Tweed opted for an ivory Priscilla of Boston gown, matched with the luxury diamonds. The couple's 19-year-old daughter Sophie served as the maid of honour, while their 22-year-old son Nick lent his creative talents and designed the invitations. Similar to the wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, the nuptials will be broadcast as part of a reality show special - an episode of 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' on 18th October 2010 will document the big day. Shannon appeared in Playboy magazine throughout the 1980's, while also starring in thrillers and adventure movies, including 'Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death' and 'Scored'.
Simmons proposed to his wife during a trip to Belize earlier this year - the moment was captured by cameras for the couple's A&E reality show.
