The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star began the next step of her breast cancer treatment in late November (16), and admitted she hated every minute of the "frightening" medical process, during which radiation is used to shrink tumours and kill cancer cells.

And, on Wednesday (07Dec16), Shannen took to Instagram to share a black-and-white snap of herself posing in a hospital gown alongside two hospital workers, who she credited with making her sessions more manageable.

"Another day of radiation," she began the caption. "Meet Anna and Vince, 2 members of my radiation team. They make a concerted effort to talk to me and show me what's going on in this process so I don't feel so out of control in it."

She added, "Never be too timid to speak up and ask for what you need to get thru (sic) the process. None of this is easy but a great team can make it more pleasant."

The actress, who underwent chemotherapy treatment earlier this year (16), previously told fans that just the thought of radiation "scares" her, explaining she was uncomfortable with "not being able to see the laser".

The 45-year-old shared, "I'm sure I'll get used to it but right now... I hate it. #radiation #radiationmondaysucks".

Shannen went public with her cancer diagnosis last year (15) after her health battle was revealed in legal papers against her business managers at Tanner Mainstain Glynn & Johnson, who allegedly let her health insurance policy lapse, forcing her to wait to see a doctor about a lump in her breast.

The two parties reportedly settled the dispute in August (16), but earlier this week (begs05Dec16), Shannen's husband Kurt Iswarienko filed his own suit against the firm's bosses, claiming their reported oversight had ruined his sex life.
