Shania Twain battled freezing temperatures in Ontario, Canada on New Year's Day (01Jan10) to carry the Olympic Games torch through her hometown of Timmins to promote the upcoming winter sporting event.
The country singer beamed with pride as she took part in the Olympic torch run, taking to a makeshift stage in a white tracksuit to light the ceremonial cauldron signalling the start of the show.
The torch will be carried through several cities across the country to highlight the upcoming Winter Olympics (Feb10) in Vancouver.
And Twain is delighted to have been a part of Canada's history.
She tells People.com, "There is a lot of excitement surrounding the voyage of the Olympic flame as it makes its way through our beautiful country.
"I am proud to be a small part of the flame's journey to its final destination at the games in Vancouver. I will never forget this honour and cherish the privilege."
