King & Country
Seth Lakeman, the West Country born singer songwriter, is set to round off what has been a great 12 months for him with the release of a new single 'King And Country' and a UK tour in February 2007. The final single to be lifted from Seth's highly touted 'Freedom Fields' album (his first album for Relentless - the home of Joss Stone and KT Tunstall), 'King & Country is a heart wrenching tale of a young woman waiting for her lover to return home from the Great War. This timeless, stripped back acoustic song is underpinned by the gorgeous backing vocals of Cara Dillon and Kathryn Roberts.
Since its release in the early part of 2006, Freedom Fields, the follow up to Seth's 2005 Mercury nominated 'Kitty Jay', has gone on to sell over 80,000 copies in the UK alone, reaching far beyond Seth's established cult fan base, and appealing to a whole new audience.
Having played over 200 shows in 2006 alone, Seth will also continue touring his critically acclaimed, rhythmic live shows in February next year. Dates are as follows: -
19th Salisbury Arts Centre
20th London Shepherds Bush Empire
21st Aylesbury Civic Hall
22nd Manchester Academy 2
23rd Stoke Sugar Mill
24th Durham Gala Theatre
