Serena Williams has already conquered the world of tennis; it now looks like she's turning her focus towards the world of music. Tmz have posted a clip of a track featuring the former World Number One female tennis player and multiple Grand Slam winner rapping over a sample that seems to have been lifted from Daft Punk's 'Technologic' that Busta Rhymes also used to great effect on his single 'Touch It.' That single was released in 2005 and the sample still sounds fresh seven years on.
Williams apparently recorded the tracks last year in Florida, and it's no surprise to see that the one which has leaked features a reference to Tennis within the first thirty seconds. Beyond, that, though it's not too bad, with Serena even giving a shout out to her fellow Grand Slam winning sister Venus Williams.
"I ball hard no tennis racket/I can't see these haters through my Gucci glasses/I make hits like batting practice-they be like Serena, is you really rapping?" Indeed! It's certainly unexpected, both Williams sisters have both drifted in and out of tennis, dominating early on in their careers before seeing a chance to make more money elsewhere in fashion. This might be another avenue for Serena the entrepreneur, or it might just be a bit of fun, in which case - nice work!
