Selena Gomez "dressed like a boy" until she was 11.

The 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actress - who has her own clothing line Dream Out Loud - admitted fashion wasn't always important to her and she didn't really care about style when she was younger.

She explained: "I don't think I was always striving to be a fashionista, I dressed like a boy until I was 11 but when I was 13 I got into layering and trying out my own style and I became interested in The Fashion in magazines and looking up the styles of celebrities."

Now Selena is renowned for her fashion sense and the 18-year-old star revealed her staple wardrobe items are boots and scarves.

She said: "Style to me is supposed to be fun, it's who you are and what mood you're in. My personal style is definitely more classic. I love flowy pieces, I love white and black, very neutral and organic.

"The fashion pieces that I have to have would be scarves and boots you can basically wear them at any time of the year. You can wear a scarf with a sundress because it's very cute and very girly."
