American rockers Secret Machines had a wild experience recording their second album, because bears invaded their studio time.

The band, who recently supported British rockers Oasis, decided to lay down some tracks in the Catskill Mountains, New York State, in a bid to find added inspiration - but found the native wildlife more of a distraction.

He says, "We recorded in a big huge old dining hall in the Allaire Studios in the Catskill Mountains.

"One side of it overlooks the valley through an enormous pane of glass. Birds would fly into it and we had black bears running by when we were recording."
