Recovering R&B star Sean Kingston has hailed the man who rescued him from a serious jet ski accident in May (11) "an angel in the sky".
The Beautiful Girls hitmaker was knocked unconscious when he crashed his water vehicle into a bridge in Miami, Florida.
Off-duty Coast Guard Jonathan Rivera saw the star's friend desperately waving for help and he and his pal Jimmy Vega managed to drag Kingston and a female companion to safety.
Kingston, who spent almost a month in hospital undergoing surgery and recovering from his injuries, has now publicly thanked Rivera for responding so quickly to the incident.
Discussing the accident in an MTV special, which aired in the U.S. on Tuesday (02Aug11), Kingston says, "He was just like an angel in the sky. It (his rescue) was really meant to be, everything happened at the perfect time, that's what I was told."
And he is excited about meeting the ex-Marine in person for the first time later this week (ends05Aug11), when he plans to express his eternal gratitude to his "hero".
He says, "We (sic) been talking every day. He hit me up on Twitter, on email, but we haven't met yet, we're meeting him for the first time in a couple of days. He's a hero."
Turning directly to the camera, Kingston adds, "I just wanna say, I love you man, it was a great situation man, I owe you whatever because it's like, my life for me is all that I have, me being a successful artist, I really mean it so from the bottom of my heart, I just want to say thank you."
