Sea of Bees is the music project of Julie Baenziger - or Jules as she is known to most. From Roseville, California her music is a magical, hazy focus-flare mix of folk and pop as demonstrated here by her version of Fleetwood Mac's Rhiannon performed with backing vocalist Amber Padgett and filmed at The Old Vinyl Factory.
Sea of Bees joins a raft of upcoming talent who've filmed sessions for this unique acoustic online series. Located in a setting rich in musical history The Old Vinyl Factory Sessions are filmed on the site of EMI's old pressing plant in Hayes Middlesex, where classic albums by a host of legendary artists including The Beatles were manufactured.
Artists visiting the site are able to take advantage of the art deco buildings and their outstanding acoustics. The first wirelesses, record players and records were manufactured here and Stereo developed. At the turn of the 20th century His Master's Voice label was born at the site and in 1931 came the creation of Electric And Musical Industries Ltd - or EMI - who occupied the premises until the mid '80's.
All participating artists contribute a cover of a favourite track recorded during the life of the factory and two original songs in their set.
