I've grown accustomed to all cheesy skin flicks being unbearably bad, but believe it or not The Sex Substitute 2 is often funny and remarkably watchable. Sure, it's cheese -- the movie is about a professional housesitter (Scott Duke) who gets into trouble when his current gig (a bankrupt bed & breakfast) is mistaken for the sex clinic/resort down the road. Housesitter pretends he's the doctor and when he's not "treating" the guests, he's trying to get it on with the owner's hottie sister (Ander Page).It's actually a pretty intelligent plot for a Skinemax pic. I can't say I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next (or namely, who would sleep with whom), but I was amused enough by Duke's Michael Keaton-esque facial expressions and genial good sportsmanship about the film to enjoy it much more than most films of its ilk.
