A transatlantic flight has proved to be a lucky charm for Scissor Sisters and KEANE - after both bands picked up a series of Brit Awards in London last night (09FEB05).

The camp LAURA five-piece and the English rock trio were onboard the same flight from New York to London earlier this week (begs07FEB05) ahead of the star-studded ceremony.

Scissor Sisters were the big winners at the bash, picking up Best International Breakthrough Act, Best International group and Best International album, followed close behind with Keane's wins in the Best British Breakthrough Artist and Best British Album categories.

Scissor Sisters singer ANA MATRONIC explains, "We were on the same flight. Keane had just done Saturday Night Live.

"They were in first class... and we were not!"
