Scarlett Johansson led a parade through The Streets of Cambridge, Massachusetts, yesterday after being appointed woman of the year by Harvard University's prestigious acting group Hasty Pudding Theatricals.

The stunning blonde actress braved ice-cold weather as she sat with the group's president, Joshua Brener, and vice president, Justin Rodriguez who were dressed in drag on the back seat of a silver Bentley during the parade.

After that Scarlett magnanimously put up with light-hearted ribbing, including skits about her famous nude Vanity Fair magazine cover and her role in the film Eight-Legged Freaks.

For her work in the past year which has included an impressive number of releases including Scoop, The Black Dahlia and The Prestige, as well as a number of films in post-production she was then handed the pudding pot award.

Each year this honour is bestowed on a female performer who is deemed to have made a lasting contribution to the world of entertainment. The ceremony has been performed every year since 1951.

A male actor is also singled out each year, with hugely successful comedy actor Ben Stiller named as 2007's man of the year. He will be presented with his award on February 23rd.

Previous recipients of the pudding pot include Halle Berry, Anjelica Houston, Katharine Hepburn, Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman and Paul Newman.
