Funnywoman Sarah Silverman has reportedly threatened to quit her hit show THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM after learning the budget for the series has been slashed by over $250,000 (£177,000) per episode.
The comedy was due to begin shooting its third season this year (09) - but the programme has allegedly fallen victim to the current global credit crunch, with its budget falling from $1.1 million (£780,140) to $850,000 (£602,835) per show.
And the drastic cuts have infuriated Silverman and fellow executive producers Dan Sterling and Rob Schrab - with the trio vowing to walk out if the figures are not adjusted, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The forthcoming season has yet to be picked up by broadcasters Comedy Central, but a deal is expected to be agreed later this week (begs02Mar09).
