Singer Sarah Mclachlan has signed up to honour the victims of 9/11 with a special concert to mark the opening of the Flight 93 National Memorial.
The I Will Remember You hitmaker will perform at the dedication ceremony on 10 September (11) in Pennsylvania, just a day before the 10-year anniversary of the atrocities.
The memorial was erected by the National Park Foundation as a tribute to the 40 courageous passengers and crew of Flight 93 who famously gave their lives to thwart a terrorist attack on the U.S. capital in Washington, D.C.
The California-bound plane took off in New Jersey but crashed near rural Shanksville, where the national memorial is now located, and MCLachlan will be among those paying their respects.
The Foundation's president, Neil Mulholland, says, "We are honoured to have Sarah MCLachlan perform at the dedication of the Flight 93 National Memorial. Her music will complement the commemoration ceremony as we memorialise the passengers and crew of Flight 93 and all of the heroes of September 11."
