Jil Sander has created a new fragrance, Eve.

The German designer has collaborated with perfumer Oliver Polge to work on the coral-tinged scent, described as a fruity chypre oriental with notes of grapefruit flower, red currant, wild rose and jasmine sambac on a base of cashmere wood and patchouli.

German actress Karoline Herfurth has been announced as the face of the campaign for the scent to be released by fragrance company Coty Prestige, which has previously worked with Sarah Jessica Parker and Halle Berry.

Former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld's daughter Julia Restoin Roitfeld is the face of the other perfumes in the range Jil and Sensual Jil.

The fragrance news comes after it was recently revealed designer Jil and Japanese label Uniqlo are to part ways after a two-year collaboration on the +J range.

A Uniqlo press release said: "With the recent completion of the design of The Fall and winter collection, Ms. Sander and Uniqlo agreed that they had fully explored the possibilities of their creative collaboration and accomplished what they had set out to do. Consequently, the two parties have decided to wrap up their design consulting agreement with this collection."

Jil joined the Uniqlo in 2009 - after a five-year break from the industry - and was appointed creative director of the brand's menswear and womenswear as well as launching +J, which focused on the designer's famously minimal, clean aesthetic.
