Former British royal Sarah Ferguson insists she wasn't "in the right place" when she offered a bogus businessman a chance to meet her ex-husband PRINCE ANDREW for $700,000 (£466,600).
In a TV interview Fergie taped with Oprah Winfrey in Los Angeles on Friday (28May10), the Duchess of York spoke about the embarrassing chat she had with an undercover British tabloid reporter - which became an international news story last month (May10).
And she admits she had been drinking and was not thinking straight when she came up with the cash-for-chat plan.
She told Winfrey, "I was in the gutter at that moment, so I'm aware of the fact that I've been drinking... that I was not in my right place."
The 50 year old also told Oprah she has yet to see the tape of the sting operation carried out by the News of the World.
The Duchess of York's candid chat with Winfrey will air in America on Tuesday (01Jun10).
