Low-budget movie Santa Claus Conquers the Martians has landed the top spot in a new poll - listing the least popular Christmas films ever.

The 1964 comedy starring John Call and LEONARD HICKS - about a group of aliens who kidnap Santa because there's no-one on Mars capable of delivering presents - beat out competition from other festive turkeys A CHRISTMAS ROMANCE, at two, and DON'T OPEN 'TIL CHRISTMAS, at three.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1996 yuletide effort JINGLE ALL THE WAY, ADAM SANDLER's EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS and RANDY QUAID sequel CHRISTMAS VACATION 2: COUSIN EDDIE'S ISLAND ADVENTURE also feature in the terrible top ten.

British DVD rental website LOVEFILM.COM compiled their list by counting the number of times Christmas films were hired by customers.
