Scottish singer/songwriter Sandi Thom has won her two-year battle for permission to move permanently to the U.S.
The I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair) hitmaker is dating American rocker Joe Bonamassa and has been living with him at her mansion in Malibu, California on a temporary visa.
She began the long process of obtaining official immigration rights in 2010, and on Friday (26Oct12), after spending six hours at the U.S. embassy in London, Thom was finally granted permanent residency.
In a post on Twitter.com, she writes, "What a momentous day. 6 hrs (hours) at the U.S embassy to hear the words ive waited 2 yrs (years) for... Miss Thom u (you) have officially been granted permission to Emmigrate (sic) to the United States."
