British actress Samantha Morton has hit out at Hollywood star ELIZABETH HURLEY - insisting the former model is "not an actress".

IN AMERICA star Morton - who has picked up an OSCAR nomination for her role in the film drama - claims former Estee Lauder covergirl Hurley is more interested in being famous than actually acting.

She snipes, "She's not an actress. I wouldn't think she'd do street theatre in Poland, would you?

"Do you think she really loves her craft? No."

Morton extends her disdain to other actresses obsessed with the cult of celebrity: "A lot of people I've met just want to be famous and they don't care how they do it, what they do. I call it death by association. I just find it really sad."
