Britney Spears' one-time manager SAM LUTFI has called for a psychiatric evaluation of the pop star in his ongoing defamation battle with her mum.
Lutfi has filed a motion in Los Angeles asking a judge to order Spears to undergo evaluation - to prove she is mentally capable of testifying in court.
He is pursuing a defamation lawsuit against Lynne Spears and wants his former client to give a deposition, but Britney's parents insist the pop star is mentally incapable of testifying in a court of law.
Lutfi claims Spears' recent interviews and promotional activity in support of her new album Femme Fatale prove beyond a doubt she's OK.
He was fired as Spears' manager in 2008 as the pop star's life unravelled following a breakdown.
He has been pursuing legal action against Lynne Spears since the release of her memoir Through the Storm later that year.
In the tome, Spears claims Lutfi secretly drugged her daughter and refused to let her freely speak to family and friends.
