The trial of Bollywood star Salman Khan has stalled after three witness failed to turn up.
The actor is accused of ploughing his car into a group of people sleeping on a sidewalk in a hit-and-run crash in Mumbai, India in September, 2002, killing one man and injuring four others.
The legal proceedings have been rumbling on for many years, but his trial finally kicked off in Mumbai this week (beg24Mar14).
However, the case came to a halt on Wednesday (26Mar14) after prosecutors revealed they would not be able to examine three witnesses as planned. Reports suggest one of the witness is ill, while the other two have left town.
The trial has been adjourned until 8 April (14).
Khan, 48, denies a charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He faces up to 10 years in jail if convicted.
