Actress Salma Hayek considered adoption before meeting her husband, billionaire businessman Francois-henri Pinault, because she was so eager to become a mother.
The Oscar-nominated Frida star struggled with love throughout much of her life and when she reached her 30s, the Mexican beauty admits she was so set on having a family, she looked into ways on how to become a single mum.
She tells Marie Claire magazine, "I was trying to figure out how to have a child on my own. I came to terms with saying, '(Love) might not happen,' and I have to be OK with that.'"
But Hayek's luck turned when she met the French businessman and in March, 2007, the couple became engaged. The actress gave birth to daughter Valentina several months later.
She gushes, "Someone came along whom I never would have pictured or thought I would have wanted; he was completely out of my box. Even though I was not looking, I was present and I was open. I am the luckiest person I know... He's the best thing that ever happened to me and my work."
