Mexican beauty Salma Hayek has urged young lovers to use protection when they have sex - because she's horrified by the growing number of teenagers who are contracting AIDS.

The FRIDA star was so impressed by her actress friend Ashley Judd's work for charity YouthAIDS, she agreed to support its See No Evil Hear No Evil campaign, which aims to tackle young people's ignorance about the disease.

And she was horrified when she learned how many teenagers refuse to use condoms.

She warns, "Before you do anything, think. If you do something to try and impress someone, to be loved, accepted or even to get someone's attention, stop and think.

"So many people are busy trying to create an image, they die in the process. Sleeping with the wrong person is one thing, but not using a condom because you want to please someone, or because you're in a romantic bubble, is another.

"I wish we weren't so busy trying to impress people."
