Ryan Dunn's passenger in Monday morning's fatal car crash was listed as a production assistant on the second 'Jackass' movie, according to MTV News. Zachary Hartwell, of West Chester Pennsylvania, was riding in Dunn's Porsche 911 when the vehicle hit a tree and burst into flames, killing both individuals.
Though not a member of the 'Jackass' cast, Hartwell worked on the 2009 movie and also appeared as a car-stunt driver on Bam Margera's movie 'Minghags', about a machine that transforms garbage into root beer, grapefruit juice and kerosene. Police are continuing their investigation into the tragic accident and an autopsy is currently underway. According to Tmz.com, the autopsy is intended to determine whether alcohol played a factor in the high-speed crash. Although Dunn was photographed at a local bar just hours before the collision, the initial police press release merely stated, "Preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident". A spokesperson for the 'Barnaby's of America' tavern confirmed Dunn did not appear drunk before he left the establishment.
Ryan Dunn's death has already resulted in an outpouring of tribute messages from friends and fans. The 34-year-old's 'Jackass' co-star Johnny Knoxville recently tweeted, "Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. Rip Ryan, I love you buddy".
