LATEST: British opera singer Russell Watson has postponed his upcoming UK tour as he recovers from emergency surgery to remove a brain tumour. Watson, 39, had the benign growth removed last month (SEP06) in a five-hour operation to save his sight and was discharged days later - but he was readmitted earlier this month (OCT06) suffering from headaches and blurred vision. Watson was expected to make a return to the stage in November (06), but he has now pushed back concert dates to early next year (07). His spokesperson says, "Forthcoming dates for his UK tour have unfortunately had to be postponed until early 2007. "The singer has been advised by specialists not to undertake the heavy schedule and to continue to rest until he has completely recovered from the surgery. "Russell continues to have weekly check-ups and is recovering slowly, and he is looking forward to performing for his fans again very soon."
