Rap mogul Russell Simmons is hosting a major U.S. summit calling for an end to the hostility between Muslims and Jews. The 49-year-old Def Jam co-founder has teamed up with The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (FFEU) to promote dialogue between Muslim and Jewish leaders, by uniting an Imam and a Rabbi from 11 major cities in the United States. Representatives from cities including Dallas, Texas; Baltimore, Maryland; Dearborn, Michigan and Orange County, California, will descend upon the New York Synagogue and the Islamic Cultural Center of New York City on Wednesday (07Nov07) in a bid to discuss common ground between the two faiths, and break down religious barriers. Simmons tells AllHipHop.com, "The goal of this summit is to provide the participants with the tools to cultivate a strong communal relationship as Americans in their hometowns, and not solely as Jews or Muslims."
