British comedian Russell Brand attempted to flirt with DAME Helen Mirren on the set of their new movie by offering her his dirty underwear.
The actors appear in a forthcoming film adaptation of William Shakespeare's The Tempest, with Mirren taking on the role of Prospero and Brand playing jester Trinculo.
The Queen star and the funnyman have had an ongoing mutual appreciation for months, with the actress previously declaring: "I heard he fancies me. I fancy Russell too."
So when Brand found himself with an extra pair of briefs during an impromptu outfit change on-set, he quickly offered Mirren his spare underwear.
He says, "On the last day of filming I was running late, so I just shoved on a yellow pair of American Apparel underpants. At the end of filming I rushed back to my dressing room and spotted a black pair and thought I'd change.
"As I rush out of the dressing room I came face-to-face with Helen, still holding my dirty pants head high. That's when I heard my voice saying: 'Would you like these?'
"She took them and said 'Thank you'. Why? Because she was being polite - because she's a Dame."
