After spinning off his newspaper business and allowing it to retain the News Corp name, Rupert Murdoch has decided to call the company hanging on to his other media assets 21st Century Fox. It appeared, however, that the famed movie and TV studio that bears the 20th Century Fox name will continue to do so. Murdoch said that the new name of the company, which recently bore the lackluster title The Fox Group, was intended to draw upon the creative heritage of 20th Century Fox, while also speaking to the innovation and dynamism that must define each of our businesses through the 21st century. Today's (Wednesday) New York Times observed that the bulk of the company's profits will not come from the studio but from its cable channels, in particular Fox News. We created a ratings juggernaut, Murdoch said, with millions of households trusting Fox News to deliver the most valuable and most-watched journalism on television.
